On Target Media staff, press release
Singapore, April 25, 2005
The 2005 Content Forum, organized by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), the principal trade association of the software and digital content industry, will be held at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Universal City, CA, USA, on May 24-25.
This year's event will once again feature industry leaders providing hands-on tactical information for operational managers and executives. Speakers will discuss their outlook, identify critical trends, present strategies and predict the business climate for 2005 and beyond.
Recognized industry leaders will also reveal their take on the new content business models, the blurring line between content and search, and the ongoing effort to promote premium content.
Panelists at the event include Sterling Stites, CEO of Infodesk; Pam Springer, CEO of ECNext, Raul Valdes-Perez, CEO of Vivisimo, and Rich Skrenta, CEO of Topix.net. The panelists will focus on the rapid innovation occurring within the content value chain in blogging, tagging, RSS feeds and podcasts; as well as the business models and distribution channels required to sell and deliver this information. Other sessions will discuss changing user needs and the technologies available to protect and monetize these content assets. Representatives from publishers such as Reed Business and Pearson are confirmed to speak at the event. Updated list of speakers is available here. http://www.siia.net/cf/2005/speakers.asp
"The (information) industry is becoming more competitive and complex, especially as more and more premium content becomes searchable and shareable on the web. The point of this conference is to give the attendees the tools and information they need to stay a step ahead," said Ed Keating, Vice President Content Division, SIIA.
